Well Boys, summer is over. The good part is I don't have to cut the grass any more, I save the gas.
The bad part is the grass ain't growin any more, I gotta start buyin hay for the critters. And we all know what comes next.
I assume you live on a ranch or farm if ya have to buy hay? We are in the brrush, but the F in law got rid of all the cattle some years ago. He got tired of buying hay during the droughts.
Now all I have to buy is dog food for 4 labs and a pit bull. Two of those are their dogs. Also have their little inside dog living with us and our inside dog. More dog fud there too. The in laws have been in a nursinghome for a year now.
Cutting the grass now for 2 acres around the houses. The fields are gong to the brush cause the tractor gavie out years ago. Just mowing the grass around the houses runs about 20 bucks each time. Ihate to say it, but I have kinda enjoyed the drought. Haven't had to cut the grass as much.

Were at 78 today, tomorrow, 65, Sunday 58 for high. Time to hunt. It is supposed to be in the high 50's low 60's all next week with lows in the mid to high 30's.
This is Alabama right?, we usually don't see those temps until December.
Definitely would like to get one of those wood burning heaters for around here. Even though this is north central Florida, we have seen 18 degree temps on occasion in years past. Mama don't like the cold, but I'm more comfortable with the right jacket and a good bonfire in the back... Nice fall pic, btw!
Living in Kansas, I'm used to changes in the weather and temperature. We had 29 days in a row of temperatures between 100 and 110 this summer and this winter is supposed to be cold, which means below zero temperatures for periods of time.
