A middle school math teacher was shot dead today while shielding students from a boy with a gun in a Nevada middle school. The slain teacher was identified by his family as Michael Landsberry, a former U.S. Marine.

My wife knew him, she is a teacher assistant at the High School a few blocks east of his school... he was a nice guy and deserved better! My wife works at almost all of the schools in the district, I was a little anxious until she answered my text that morning letting me know she was alright!
