Hello, I am new to the forum and just bought a new bersa 380cc. I noticed when chambering the first round if the safety is on the slide will not go forward all the way till you take the safety off. It will do fine with it off. The gun shoots ok. Should you not have the safety on when chambering the first round?

I don't have that problem with mine. I wonder if something is just a bit sticky because it is new?
Like Hilandr, I don't have that situation with mine, either. You might try putting some lubricating oil on the safety and then working it back and forth to loosen it up.....other than that, you should probably give Bersa a call. :)

It shouldn't be hanging up like that.... :(
I have this issue with mine. If you let the slide go when it is all the way back to chamber a round it will go all the way forward. What it is, is the decocker trying to bring the hammer back down because when you racked it to chamber the hammer locked back
Welcome to the Bersa Forum !!

I myself NEVER chamber a round with the safety on...
I front pocket carry mine in a DeSantis holster. I carry empty chamber and I practice, pulling it out of my pocket, racking one into the chamber, and then de-safetying before firing.

This is what is happening. It stops at the point where the gun decocks. I guess I will just chamber it with the safety off and then decock it and put the safety on at the same time.
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like the best thing to do.
