Most recently I saw the movie Act of Valor....which follows a Navy Seal squad on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent, and in the process takes down a complex web of terrorist cells determined to strike America at all costs. The filmmakers had unprecedented Naval access resulting in high-octane combat sequences and never-before-seen military operation scenes which are composited from actual events in the lives of the men appearing in the film and their comrades.

I want to see the movie Lawless...

...a Depression-era gangster film set in the hills of Virginia. It concerns a real-life family of bootleggers,
the Bondurant brothers, who made moonshine, fought with the law and became legendary as
indomitable symbols of American gangster lore.

I don't go to the movies, too expensive, and cant seem to make the time.

For new DVDs
The Lorax :D I have young kids, it was a fun movie once you get buy all the hippie, tree hugger, anti capitalism undertones
Rise of the Planet of the Apes, watched on HBO, it was disappointing for everything except the special effects

really looking forward to Prometheus next week

Watched Cowboys and Aliens last night, it was not bad for a movie you just enjoy the action and ignore that the plot is pretty dang silly

Watched Act of Valor on netflix streaming. Acting sucked, but great action flick with tons of high speed gun play.

Anyone else into crazy Japanese movies?

Battle Royal and Battle Royal 2 is about a group of high school kids who are forced to fight to the death to keep kids around the nation in check.

They are both interesting, very violent, and oddly funny at times. I would look for an American version in a couple of years.

I saw it. I think it's a great movie, and I may even watch it again when it comes out on Netflix, but I would not buy it. Just not something I personally see myself watching over and over.
Yeah, I'd imagine it will end up being shown a few times a year on the networks starting next year. I might just do the pay per view on cable for $5

Took the old lady out to see TAKEN 2 on the big screen last night. It's been out a while. I saw the first one and it has been on TV already. Just seems like another twist to the super-spy/operative/azz kicker theme flicks. Not as good as the Jason Bourne series IMO. In the first flick, his daughter gets Taken and the main character played by Liam Neesen, gets her back. This time he and his wife get Taken and the daughter has to set him loose on an azz kickin and killing rampage. Lotta action, car chases, shoot'em ups. It was worth watching if you like action. Was hoping to see the new 007 flick Skyfall today, but it did not work out.

If we get to tthe theatre by the 3 pm shows, it is only 4 bucks each. After 6 pm, it is 6 bucks each which is fairly tolderable. But we still have to drive 40 miels to the nearest city to find a theatre. They make up for the low rates on munchies. We just sneak ours in.:)

Did you like it at all?
I thought it was o.k. Not great. I like the Bourne flicks WAY better. I rate it on how many times I start to fall asleep. Only once, so it wasn't bad.

Really have to get back there and see SKYFALL. Heard it was a box office smash over the weekend. But I have to say that there has not been much out that has been very good lately.

And another Red Dawn at the end of the month, like Thanksgiving day IIRC. That will be a must see. I still watch the original every time it is on T.V. Have it on DVD too, but it's still sealed.

I was disappointed by The Avengers. I was expecting gold from Joss Whedon, I love everything else he's done.
Couldn't agree more. I'm really hoping Disney hires him on to do the next 3 Star Wars movies.
