I shot a grizzly with my .380 and won

On Sunday after all the "honey does" were done I got out my .380, one Buffalo Bore bullet and one Blazer FMJ bullet and a one inch thick Grizzly catalog.

I wanted to see what the difference would be so I put the book on a piece of black walnut for a back stop and fired the two rounds, the Blazer almost made it through the book coming to rest at the back of the book, the Buffalo bore went right on through and into the black walnut back stop and it to it about an inch.

What does this show ?????? I will be carrying the Buffalo bore in my .380 from now on or as long as I can find it in the store.

Was that a +P round? Can the Bersa 380 handle a +P round? Anybody?
Clever presentation and I like cleverness
+P bersa

yes the Bersa .380 is a +P, look on there web site to verify my info.

Its hard to find .380 ammo to start with to find +P impossible, ran across Buffalo Bore in one of the local store's $25.00 for 20 pricey so they will only be used for carry will use other ammo to practice
Would you mind posting a pic of the Buffalo Bore ammo box and what the bullet looks like or loaded round?

Chris
I would not think that the 380 would be rated for +P, because 380+P is not recognized by SAAMI. I put 380+P in the Bersa Webpage FAQ's and got a no results response.

In my personal opinion, I use the Lee TL356-95-RF for social work. I came to this opinion after I shot some hams with three different hollow points. Two of them expanded but were stopped or deflected by the bone, one of them penciled right through. I know not much of a test, but we were cooking them and could not shoot them up too bad! I did think it was telling though. A hard castt bullet we tried impressed me the most.

FWIW, none of them were Buffalo Bore.

EDIT: the hams were covered by a pair of work pants, so the bullets penetrated 2 layers of cloth, the hogs skin and several inches of meat.

^^^ That's why i think the 380 is just fine for self defense.
