Hi y'all, thanks again for the warm welcome Shooter13 :). I'm a 50 year old woman, married to a retired Coast Guard member of 23 years, we've been married 24 years. I have identical twin son's who are now age 21. We've always had a revolver and a shot gun in the house but it wasn't until recently that I bought myself my own gun. First I got a Sig 22 and then at the recent gun show in Houston I bought myself a Bersa Thunder Plus 380 with a 15 round factory magazine. I like the Sig, but I love my Bersa! Unfortunately I've been looking for a spare mag or two and have had no success! (wondering what is going on with that.) I'm currently working on getting my CHL and was hoping to have the spare mags for the range part of the class, but I guess I'm going to have to do it without them. Oh well, If I get lucky and find one or two, great, if not, I'll just have to make due with what I do have. I really enjoy going to the range every Friday with my husband for practice and some casual competition :) with my Bersa.

Welcome to the family, Ma'am! If I may ask a couple of questions: you mentioned that you found your Plus at a gun show. How much was it?

You mentioned that you live in south Texas. Galveston, perhaps? I am just curious because my wife is from that area. We currently live in Rye, which is about an hour northeast of Houston.

Welcome from Las Vegas by a transplanted Texan. Politics and the fear of our own government has created the current problem. I got caught short of ammo and equipment in the run of '08. Soon as the crap settles down, start stocking. I've now got 8 of the DLX mags for the BT-380 and 10 for my 9UC.

    Hi again,
David, my husband and I went to the gun show in the Reliant Center a couple of week ends ago. We didn't know about the one last week end or we would have gone. I think I paid $400.00 for it ? Not 100% sure though, I looked at allot of guns. It's probably more than I should have paid for it, but I really liked it and I hadn't seen one in any of our "gun" shops. I really love the gun, and am still looking for a spare magazine, hopefully I'll find one soon. I'm still keeping an eye out for plus for you, (at least I think it was you who was looking for one.)
Sorry it took a while to get back to you, I don't get a chance to get on here much, I am my parents care giver and my days are usually packed with nurse visits and the like. :)

LMB, that was very considerate and I thank you very much. That is a great price, but that auction finished in early December. The recent ban scare has folks buying up hi cap mags and handguns until even the warehouses are dry. I'm 100% positive that prices and availability will return to normal when this frenzy dies down in about six to nine months, but I'm not so sure I want to wait that long!

    I want my Plus NOW!!!

LoL David, I totally understand that! Perhaps it's the reason I bought mine where I did, when I did and for as much as I did. I have been looking for a gun that "felt" right to me, make sense?Truth be told I'm rather new to owning a gun and I had heard from my husband and some other people that a 40 cal. was similar to the 9 cal and that the 9 was very much like the 380 so when I found a Smith and Wesson 40 I bought it. Went shooting that night and the following week and my hand and wrist were in pain for the following 2 weeks. Since then I knew what I wanted and I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I found my Bersa Thunder Plus 380 and I love it! It felt great in my hand and when we went shooting it felt great! So I really am glad I bought it and I don't really care that I may have been able to find it cheaper later on. :) because it was (is) important to me.
My husband and I go to a local indoor range http://thearmsroomtx.com/ on Friday nights. They have "Date Night" where the first shooter pays reg. price (unless they are active duty law enforcement or military) and the second shooter is free. (Just wish we lived in the country where I could set up my own safe range area, you know what I mean)
Sorry, I didn't know that about that site and I didn't realize that the auction would last till December! wow, I had never heard of an auction taking that long! Anyway, sorry, I'm sure you'll find yous soon, and at a decent price. :)
