Governor Christie Calls for investigation...

This pretty much confirms something I've always believed; the feds, the state, and certain agencies of both governments routinely abuse their authority. I firmly believe child protective service agencies are the worse of them all. They will go to your home, unannounced, and demand to do an inspection or interview right then and there. That is abuse of authority. They actually teach the newly hired investigators to do that, despite no legal rights to do so.

First and foremost I agree with you, "but" my initial gut reaction was that some one needs to smack the father up the side of the head for posting the picture in the first place.

Why? What is wrong with a father taking a picture of his son showing of his pride and joy? The boy is obviously trained enough to keep his finger off the trigger, and he is holding it safely. Are gun owners not allowed to post pics of their guns anymore? I was shooting guns at that boy's age, had my hunting license too! Was that wrong?

I agree, and maybe I misstated the intent of my opinion as there is nothing wrong with taking the picture for the family album and friends, I'd do the same, it's posting it on a public media that I feel was not in the best interest of anyone. When you and I were a young men, public perception and government interference was far different than it is today. Would suggest that you re-read the the results of his actions, he brought on more intrusions exercising his First.
First off. This is no different than the thug that duct taped his daughter because she would not stop crying, posted on Facebook, and after the police showed up, cried that it was just a joke. His comment under his post said "this is how I get my daughter to stop crying ". The father of the boy with the rifle wants nothing more than a little fame. And now he will get just that. These type of parents may seem normal to you and me, But I can tell you that they all have a couple of screws missing. Done in pore taste??? Absolutely.
