I just found out that bersa makes a .38 special revolver. Knowing the quality standards that bersa maintains, I got really interested. Has anyone ever shot one, own one, anything?

IIRC and I've been know to be wrong, Bersa currently does not make and sell a .38 under the Bersa name currently. The gun you may be referencing to may be the Firestorm .38, imported by Eagle Imports, are made by Armscor in the PI. and are supposed to be a very nice clone of the old S&W Detective Special. I had a S&W Detective special. It's a nice gun, but a tad too small for my hand so I did a semi-permanent loan out of it to my brother because, IMHO, it has a bit of a nasty recoil and barrel. Where some of the confusion may come in is that Bersa manufactures the 380, 9, 40, and 45UC for Firstorm and most parts on the Bersa/Firestorm are interchangable. Even the very niced American Commander series of 1911 45's which several gun dealers label as "Bersa" ar not, are made by Armscor in the Republic Of PI.

Below are a couple of site I found on it. Hope this has been of help.

Armscor made us the Firestorm .38 revolver, which has been discontinued for over a year. Bersa had nothing to do with it. Just to clear up any confusion though, Armscor does not make the American Classic 1911's. This is a big misconception. The American Classic line of 1911's, as well as the MAC and SPS lines that we import at Eagle Imports, are all manufactured by Metroarms. Eagle Imports is an importer based out of New Jersey. We import Bersa from Argentina and Metroarms products from Philippines. Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification on the American Classic. Now that I know that you are also on this site, I'll refer future questions like the above to your username.
