9UC problem

1766 Views 7 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  USCG721

I'm out shooting quarters and the Bersa seems to be doing a good job till I go to use my decocker. The safty bar isn't there. It broke. Metal fatigue? Is this part covered under any warranty?

Safety bar parts on the way.
I also need to replace the firing pin on my 9 UC but can't seem to find any info on doing it. Has anybody here replaced one on the new 9 UC? The new one doesn't have the spring under the rear sight. I think I found the pin that is holding the firing pin in, but am not sure if I need it to come out from the inside or out from the top. I'm thinking from the inside, I should tap the pin in from the top and have it come out from the inside. Is there anything I should watch out for or have lined up?? Has anybody here done this before???
Wow! Hobbles, you're wearing that thing out. I wish I could help. I've only removed the extractor but, nothing else.
Mornin freefire2,
Is yours the new model? (One without the spring under the rear sight?) Do you have any info you can share on how you changed your extractor? I'm trying to get all the info I can on my model and saving it.
I contacted the company that made the DVD on tearing down the 380 and was told they were sorry but they did not have DVD on the 9UC.

PS:
freefire2,
The targets are holding up GREAT!!
Hey hobbles, glad to hear that the steel targets a still staying together for you.

I'm not sure about any spring under the rear sight. How do I check?

The extractor removal is darn easy. I promise I'll post some pics soon on it.
Morning Freefire2,
Nice to hear from you again.
Don't worry about the spring, you'd have to remove the rear sight to see. The Serial number on mine is C335**. I'm not sure when they changed the style of the Bersas. I'll send you a link of how I replace my firing pin so you can see my mistakes and won't make them your self. I'm sure I'll make a few learning how to replace the firing pin. I can't seem to find any info on how it's done so I'll go in blind, it won't be the first weapon I did this way. Little by little I'll learn my weapon.
I'm looking forward to see how you replaced the extractor, everything is easy, once you know how to do it. It seems like when I learn how to do one thing, it helps to figure how to do others. I'll share all I learn.
Haven't experienced any problems with my UC9. This pistol had earned a permanent spot in my safe. I can go back and forth between 9mm and 40 cal by simply popping in a new barrel and slide. Hard to beat! Absolutely a keeper!
