9rd and 10rd magazines for Bersa 380

Hello, I have been tempted to get one of the higher capacity magazines but I keep reading some people having trouble as follows:

1) Cant get all 9 or 10 rounds in, too hard
2) Get all the rounds in but last two don't fire/cause jams because the spring is too week to get the last two in

What is the experience here ? Note - I read this about the Bersa factory mags and the ProMags.

It would be nice to have 9 rounds on the 380

Hello arcorob, welcome to the forum. Hope others will chime in on this subject as I am not the resident expert on this subject and there are a few opinions on the pros and cons of using other than a "factory' mag. I'm of the "con" group and do not recommend using non Bersa mags in any Bersa for other than target practice. I now own two BT 380s and have acquired 10 of the 9 round Bersa DLX mags and by personal choice, I only load 8 rounds and carry one in the tube. I have 3 mags for SD rounds. One each for both guns and a spare for pocket carry. The rest I keep loaded and use for target rounds. With a lot of extra effort and possible permanent damage to the fingers, the mag and/or the 9th round can be loaded. Buy yourself a Baby Upula loader and it makes the loading of all rounds a whole lot easier, especially if like me "Sir Arthur" has come to visit and taken up residence in your hands.

LOL...Well sir Arthur, Thanks...I would go with the Bersa 9 round but I hear its a bear like you say so probably not worth it. I'll just have to get the Bersa 40 HC and get more rounds..LOl

I really like their products. I am looking for a 9mm or a .40 so I will try a variety first..but hard to find a range that has the Bersa's to try. Leaning toward the CZ...but nothing takes away from my 380...really enjoying it...and makes a perfect CC gun
Don't give up on the 380 for the sake of one round. Eight in the mag, one in the tube and a spare mag in the pocket should be about 15 more rounds more than you'll ever need, Just carry the best JHPs you can buy like Corbon DPX or Buffalo Bore. For an upgrade on caliber that I use as an alternative carry, I went with the 9UC using the 13 round capacity mags and got the larger Upula for ease of loading. As with the DLX mags for the 380 and any other caliber mag I use other than my 1911 Colt 45, I carry one round short of max capacity. For the SD mags for the 9UC, I carry Federal Premium 147+P JHP rounds staggered with 124 FMJ. One way or the other, best of luck with your mag and caliber choices.
Thank you

No plans to give up on the 380 any time soon...LOL..I may give the Bersa 9 round mag a try just to see...heck I can get a 10 round mag cheap just to try...if I get 9 rounds in it okay and it feeds properly..thats a plus.

I have to look up the ammo you mentioned. I was looking at the MagSafe ammo but wow..over $2 a round...Best penetration and impact from what I read but unless its for a bedside or carry mag, I wont be shooting those at the range....LOL

Thanks again
