Made some frijoes a la charra in the crock pot all day and Chili on the side to mix with it. Sweet yellow corn bread to go with it. Ate kinda early at 4 pm, so the wife took us out for some late night burgers and shakes too.
Still have a T Bone and some pork riblets if ya want any? I got lucky and got to the store the day before food stamps go out. That is when all the local workers put the best meat out for all their buddies on the programs here. Got some thick cut round steaks too for Carne Quisada. (Mex Style beefr and gravy.)
Too bad the food stamp program got cut. Well for the people around here anyway. Whole families use to get together and cater wedding dances and Quiceaneras (kinda like a sweet 16 party, but happens at 15 for the Mexicanos) Yet catered dinners and then they would get PAID for doing it. Then they could buy beer or whatever with the money they made. Guess it's kinda like working for the government and ya don't pay any income taxes or sales taxes on it either. Guess they got a rude awakening this morning with the food stamp cuts.
Had to settle for Pizza Hut tonight. Got to go out for breakfast tacos. Didn't have to cook all day. Yeah!
Wife went shopping out of town Suday. Had McNuggets on the way for Brunch.
Dinner at Red Lobster. Admiral's platter? Looked more like a Long John's platter. Just doesn't seem to be as much as it used to be. And even the rolls were smaller. Still got charged the same. Budget crunch I guess.
Went out for Mex Food again. Carne quisada tacos on flour tortillas. Side of chili & cheese fries. All the colestrol and starches a fat body like mine needs. Lots of heartburn too.
Decided to go out again cause Ihad to cook brunch. Yeah, Mex Food again. Enchilada dinner, rice , refried beans, carne quisada, salad and Tortillas. Home made corn chips and salsa on the side with tea.
I picked up a cooked ham from Costco yesterday. I thin sliced the ham, and placed it on a good fresh roll, a few slices of sharp cheddar cheese, added some mild horseradish, and wrapped it in tin foil and baked it for 20 minutes. They came out better than any deli sandwich I've ever purchased.
