Default Model 223 DA

I recently found and bought a Bersa model 223 DA. Really nice blueing and machine work, walnut grips, very nice condition. This seems as close to an all steel Thunder as you can get. This weapon is accurate and pretty reliable (with CCI). A nice example of weapons made from steel that had to have decent machine work to operate. It's not as good as the model 644 but pretty close. I'd hoped the mags I have for the Thunder and the model 23 would work, but No. I think this is one of the first DA that they made. I would like some feedback from other model 223 DA owners about their experiences with the weapon.

I've been unable to find a Model 223 on the Bersa/Eagle website. What is it chambered in: 22LR, 9mm? Is it double stack? Is the frame made of alloy or steel?

Found the below posted video which covers some of the details and why Eagle has no info on it.

The 223 DA is a .22lr double action all steel with walnut grips. It looks like a model 23 with a slide release. I believe it was one of the first models of double action(along with the 383). It came out prior to the model 23, 83, 85. The single action 223 in the vid looks very similar to a model 644 that I have. I got the info on the Bersa Thunder 380 Chapterhouse. It is shown on the video group above, on the upper left hand corner.

Haven't heard that BCH referenced in a lot of years. Still have them on my bookmark file. Seems like that even when I got my first Bersa in '07 that there was not that much activity on it, so I ended up on the original version of Bersa Talk which disbanded and became Bersa Chat. Got any idea why BCH went belly up.

I really don't know what happened to that site. It had lots of historical info on Bersa. I never really saw much forum discussion, but I only started looking at it a few years ago. I assume whoever the driving force of the site was, stopped driving.
